People hiking the John Muir Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail are multi-day hikers and have the packs to prove it. They drop their heavy packs here for the final push to the summit. Hikers are usually very nice and very honest. I can't imagine anyone taking anything. Now, I can't say the same about those pesky marmots.
